Bulldogs sign Aaron Woods

Wests Tigers prop Aaron Woods has joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs on a four year deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2021 season.

The Dally M Prop of the Year in 2015, and veteran of nine Test matches and 11 State of Origin’s, will link up with the Bulldogs at the completion of this National Rugby League season. Read more

Kings punish injured Rebels

The Melbourne Rebels have gone down to the Southern Kings 44-3 at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

The Rebels dominated possession and territory but more injuries stifled the visitors attack as the Kings scored six unanswered tries to claim the bonus point victory.

Rebels lost Nic Stirzaker before the game after the captain was a late withdrawal courtesy of an ankle injury which saw Mick Snowden promoted to the starting line-up for the first time in his career. Read more

Sky Blues through to Grand Final after convincing win

Sydney FC booked their place in next week’s A-League Grand Final after defeating Perth Glory 3-0 on Saturday night.

The Premiers took the lead courtesy of Joshua Brillante’s superb long-range effort 20 minutes into the match.

In what was a remarkable end to the first half, the Video Assistant Referee was required to reverse two incorrect offside decisions after replays showed both Jordy Buijs and Filip Holosko had put the ball beyond Liam Reddy from onside positions. Read more

Reds lose to Waratahs

The Queensland Reds have lost 29-26 to the NSW Waratahs in Round 10 of Super Rugby at Suncorp Stadium.

The Reds, wearing a maroon strip for the first time since 2009, ran in four tries to the Waratahs two but Bernard Foley kicked the visitors to victory, nailing five penalty goals in front of 18,781 spectators.

The Reds led 19-17 at half time and scored the only try of the second half but were penalised nine times in the second half.

Head coach Nick Stiles said: “We’re just gutted with that result. I thought we played some really good Rugby, but in the second half we couldn’t get any momentum, we couldn’t get out of our half. Read more

Wests Tigers sign Josh Reynolds

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that Josh Reynolds will be joining the Club for the 2018 NRL season.

The new four-year agreement will see the talented five-eighth join Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2021 NRL season.

Reynolds has played 129 first-grade games for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs since his NRL debut in 2011, making his representative debut for New South Wales in Game II in the 2013 State of Origin series before going on to feature in all three games of the Blues’ successful 2014 Origin series. Gavrilova leads Australia to Fed Cup victory

Daria Gavrilova has led Australia to victory in the Fed Cup World Group II Play-off, defeating Nina Stojanovic 6-0 6-3 in the third rubber of the tie in Zrenjanin, Serbia.

The celebrations were put on hold as Ashleigh Barty teamed with Casey Dellacqua to defeat Stojanovic and Jovovic 6-1 7-5 in the dead doubles rubber, Australia taking the tie 4-0.

Gavrilova was pumped to win her first Fed Cup matches and secure the tie for Australia. Read more

Late penalty seals draw in Durban

The Melbourne Rebels have secured the first draw in the club’s history with a kick after the siren to seal a 9-9 draw against the Sharks at Growthpoint Kings Park in Durban on Saturday night.

For the second week in a row, the boot of Reece Hodge secured the points for the Rebels.

The try-less game saw both sides finish the game with three penalties a piece and a man down after two red cards. Read more

Chiefs overcome gutsy Force

The Chiefs have defeated a brave and determined Western Force 16-7 in front of a boisterous Sea-of-Blue at nib Stadium in Perth this evening.

The Waikato-based side had won of eight of the previous 10 encounters, and came to Perth full of confidence following their come-from-behind victory over the Cheetahs last weekend.

The Force meanwhile had their second bye of the season though were nursing injuries to several key players from the high-scoring and entertaining clash with the Kings a fortnight ago. Read more

Izzo returns home to Reds

Adelaide United is delighted to officially announce the return of goalkeeper, Paul Izzo, on a three-year contract with the Club.

Izzo’s deal means the young gloveman will stay with the Reds until at least the end of the A-League 2019/20 season.

The 22-year-old started his professional career with Adelaide, serving as back up to Club Captain, Eugene Galekovic, and played seven matches in four years. Read more

Brooks commits to Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that halfback Luke Brooks has extended his playing contract with the Club for the next two seasons.

The new deal will see Brooks remain with Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Since making his NRL debut for the Club in 2013, the former Dally M Rookie of the Year has played a total of 70 first-grade games in Wests Tigers colours, making his representative debut for the NRL All Stars in 2015. Read more
