Worland appointed Victorian U21s coach
Karen Worland has been appointed as the new coach of the Victorian 21 and under squad for this year’s National
Championship to be played in Adelaide.
Worland, who is currently coach of Eastside in Championship division of the Victoria State League, has a
wealth of coaching experience that includes coaching the ACT open team in 2005 and working as a specialist
coach for the Grenada national team.
She is looking forward to again coaching at the elite representative level.
“As coach, this is an exciting challenge and a great opportunity to again be part of the Victorian State
Program,” Worland told the Netball Victoria website.
Victoria has a good record when it comes to producing talented young players and Worland believes this is
a major factor in why the state has performed well at National Championship level in recent years.
“The Victorian 21/U team for 2006 will draw upon the wealth of experience in Victoria.”
“The depth of talent in Victoria is clear with players from Allied Pickford Melbourne Kestrels, Melbourne
First National Phoenix, State League and players from the Australian Junior Squad standing for selection,”
she continued.
