Arthurs faces Final Hurdle
Tonight Australian Wayne Arthurs will take on 26-year-old Stephane Robert of France in the final round of
qualifying at the French Open.
Robert knocked out the qualifying top seed Simon Greul of Germany in three sets in the first round, and
defeated Noam Okum of Israel in the second. A fixture on the futures and challenger circuit, the Frenchman
captured one futures title and made the final of two more this year.
This will be the first meeting between the pair and they are scheduled second on Court Seven tonight.
No. 21 seed Nicole Pratt was unsuccessful in her bid to reach the final round of qualifying overnight,
losing a close match to Sweden’s Hanna Nooni in three sets 6-2 4-6 6-3.
The French Open official draw will be held tonight and main draw action will commence on Sunday.
