Cricket Australia has today released the full interstate schedule for the 2012-13 summer of cricket, with the Warriors to kick off the season with two home Bupa Sheffield Shield and Ryobi One-Day Cup matches at the WACA Ground.

The Warriors take on the NSW Blues in a One-Day Cup encounter on Sunday September 16 before the two sides back up for a Sheffield Shield fixture starting on Tuesday September 18.

The Victorian Bushrangers then head to Perth the following week for a One-Day Cup match against the hosts on Friday September 28 and a Shield game beginning two days later.

The Warriors will have a four week break while the Perth Scorchers take part in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament in South Africa. They will resume with a One-Day - Shield double against the Bushrangers in Melbourne in late October.

All teams will play 10 Sheffield Shield and eight One-Day Cup fixtures in 2012-13, as they did last summer, with the interstate competitions to be in recess while the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash League is held across December and January.

The One-Day Cup final will be played on Wednesday February 27, while the Sheffield Shield will conclude with the traditional five-day encounter starting on Friday March 22.

Meanwhile the Western Fury commence life under new Head Coach Stephen Jenkin with a WNCL and Women’s T20 triple-header against the Tasmanian Roar at the WACA Ground from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 October.

The Fury’s Women’s T20 fixture against the SA Scorpions on Sunday December 9 will be played as a curtain-raiser to the Scorchers’ opening Twenty20 Big Bash League encounter against the Adelaide Strikers at The Furnace.

And WA, under the guidance of new WACA Development Coach Geoff Marsh, will play four Futures League matches in 2012-13, meeting the QAS and South Australia at home and travelling to Tasmania and Victoria.
