Sa’u signs with Storm
Saturday August 18, 2012
Melbourne Storm has signed powerful ball running centre, Junior Sa’u, for season 2013.
Sa’u, currently with Newcastle Knights, will join Melbourne Storm in November on a one year deal.
The 25-year-old Kiwi International has played 86 NRL games after making his first grade debut for the Knights in 2008. He has played eight matches this season.
Melbourne Storm GM Football Operations, Frank Ponissi, said the signing of Sa’u would be a welcome addition to Storm’s NRL squad for 2013.
“The club has been very impressed with the way Junior has conducted himself during negotiations and we look forward to welcoming him at the start of pre-season training,” Ponissi said.
“We had the opportunity to add a centre to our squad with the departure of Dane Nielsen, and Junior will compete for that starting spot with a number of the club’s exciting juniors.”
