More Glory for Dutch International
Sunday June 10, 2007
Former Dutch International and Glasgow Rangers star Michael Mols will travel to Western Australia late next week as Perth Glory steps up its bid to secure the striker for their upcoming Hyundai A-League campaign.
Perth’s coaching staff have been in close contact with Mols over the past few months and while the 36 year old has received several offers to continue his outstanding career in Europe and the Middle East, Mols is keen to explore the option of playing in Australia.
Perth Glory coach Ron Smith believes by bringing Mols and his family to Perth and letting them see first hand what a fantastic place it is to live and play football, it could be the deciding factor.
“Michael hasn’t made a firm decision about where he’d like to play next season but he is very interested in Perth Glory,” Smith said.
“We have been proactive in our efforts to sign a player of his quality and think he’ll be impressed with what Perth can offer in terms of both lifestyle and football,” Smith added.
Mols will arrive in Perth on Thursday June 14 for a five day stay.
