Blues draw with Bulls

Cricket '05 @ Sports Australia Michael Clarke has reminded the Australian selectors of his worth after hitting an unconquered double ton in the drawn Pura Cup match between New South Wales and Queensland in Sydney today.

The Test discard resumed from his overnight score of 107, pounding the Bulls attack to all areas of the park, to register his highest first class score of 201no - his first double century.

New South Wales batted their way to 7-488 at lunch before declaring - 222 runs ahead of Queensland's first innings score of 266.

Dom Thornely smashed 86 on day three, while Michael Phelps (62), Simon Katich (46) and all-rounder Grant Lambert (37) all offered assistance.

Queensland registered 4-166 in their 72-over second innings, successfully holding off for a draw, hugely thanked by Jimmy Maher (60), while Craig Phillipson (45no), Clinton Perren (16) and Ashley Noffke (15no) spent elongated stays at the crease - frustrating the home side.

Stuart Clark (2-42) was the only multiple wicket-taker, while Nathan Bracken bowled an impressive 1-20 from 17 overs.

New South Wales play Victoria in St Kilda from December 6 in their next four-day clash, while Queensland return home for a clash against Western Australia beginning on the 17th.
