Schifcofske on deck as Reds resume training

Queensland Reds Queensland Reds high-profile recruit Clinton Schifcofske will join his new team mates for his first rugby union training session tomorrow (Tuesday 31 October) when the Reds re-assemble from annual leave.

Also joining the squad for the first time is fellow ex-league player Charlie Fetoai and Australian schoolboy representative Quade Cooper.

Reds Academy players Ben Daley and Will Genia and APC representative Herman Hunt have been invited to train with the Reds this week as the team prepares for its match against a Japan national team in Tokyo on Friday week (10 November).

Seven Reds players, including skipper John Roe, have been named in the Prime Minister’s XV to play against Japan next Saturday (4 November) and will join the rest of the Reds squad in Tokyo prior to the Reds match.

With a number of regular Reds unavailable due to injury on Wallaby duties, it’s a chance for many fringe players to impress Coach Eddie Jones before pre-season training shifts up a gear when they return.

The Reds squad, which leaves for Japan on Tuesday 7 November, will be named later this week.
