Callum joined the Sports Australia team in January 2006 to further his experience of sports
writing.
In late 2005, Callum’s first major writing role was with Cricket Victoria, penning an article for the ING
Cup Match Day Programs, Stand and Deliver. For each match at the Junction Oval Callum had a column in the
magazine that included interviews, match reports and a mid-season report card.
As an avid SEN 1116 listener and regular caller, Callum was able to fulfill a dream when he spent a week
of work experience at the Sports Radio station in November 2005. There he not only learnt the intricacies of
radio, but also got a lot of valuable advice regarding journalism from some of the on-air stars.
Come the New Year, Callum was given the great opportunity of writing for the Official AFL JSquad website,
interviewing many AFL players about their respective first games and developing the interviews into full scale
articles.
In the future, Callum wants to travel the world reporting on the fortunes of Australia’s cricket team and
also cover an AFL Grand Final writing for the Herald Sun.
