James Willoughby

A bright young sports writer with SportsAustralia since July 2005, James made a bright start towards a career in journalism with the Eastern Football League. Mixed with writing many news articles, match reports and interviews, he also explored and experienced different avenues such as commentating, acting as a boundary rider and around the grounds, whilst also appearing as a panel member on sports shows on 98.1 FM.

With such a strong starting base, his career was further emphasised when offered a ground announcer role with the VFL Box Hill Hawks, whilst also approached to become their website director.

He's had written work published with the Hawthorn FC, Box Hill FC, Melbourne Victory FC, Soccer International, Australian & British Soccer Weekly, Cricinfo, TribalFootball plus a range of UK football websites.

'Wednesdays with Willo' has become a new treat for hungry Box Hill Hawks fans, with James reaching behind the scenes at the club and interviewing a select player, with the article published on the Hawthorn Football Club's Official Website. He also appears with a weekly column/match report in his local paper, The Whitehorse Weekly.

To add to his radio history, he features on the Box Hill Hawks Footy Show weekly on 3WBC 94.1 FM, whilst commentates VFL Matches for 3SER 97.1 FM.

In 2005, he become a known-voice on SEN 1116 and community radio with the one hour show Talking Football on Sunday mornings, while produces Winning Ugly and The Four Diegos.
