Victoria firms as tournament favourites

U21 Nationals Day Two Review/Day Three Preview

Netball Australia Day three of the U/21 national netball championships is set to commence today, with tournament favourites Victoria and Western Australia facing each other tonight.

Both teams are undefeated after two days of the competition, with Victoria scoring a narrow 51–46 win over NSW last night, and Western Australia defeating South Australia, 62–54.

NSW notched up their first win of the championships yesterday, when they defeated Queensland, 50–44.

Western Australia handed Tasmania a thrashing in the first round of the day, when they recorded an 81–30 scoreline against them, while Victoria easily accounted for ACT, winning 57–34.

In other matches today, tournament hosts South Australia will be looking for their first victory when they take on Tasmania, NSW face ACT, and Victoria will be looking for a good hit out ahead of tonight’s all important match against Western Australia, when they play Queensland.
