A ten man Perth Glory FC has beaten Asian Champions Western Sydney Wanderers 2-1 and recorded its first victory at Pirtek Stadium.

On a night where a freak hail storm delayed the match by 55 minutes and turned the Parramatta stadium into an ice-field, the Western Australians once again displayed a tremendous amount of strength and character to muster their fifth win on the road this season.
Jamie Maclaren put Glory in front with a superb first-time strike to record his ninth goal of the season in the 17th minute, while Andy Keogh scored his 12th goal to secure the three points in the 66th minute.
Glory could have hit the front in the ninth minute when Griffiths headed the ball towards goal but it was cleared off the line. Richard Garcia followed through immediately after, but the ball hit the post and fell into the hands of Wanderers ‘keeper Dean Bouzanis. Read more

Perth Glory FC has claimed all three points in its final home match of the 2014-15 A-League season, beating a ten man Melbourne City 3-1, thanks to a stunning Jamie Maclaren hat-trick.
The treble took the 21-year old striker’s tally to eight goals for the season and his performance edged out a heroic Danny Vukovic as man of the match.
Perth kicked-off with a new look line-up, featuring Diogo Ferreira and debutant Mtich Oxborrow in the midfiled, while Slovenian Denis Kramar slotted in the back line for an injured Scott Jamieson. Read more

Perth Glory Football Club announced today it has accepted Football Federation Australia’s decision and sanction over matters related to the club’s Total Player Payments (‘salary cap’).
This follows the club attending a six hour hearing last night before the independent FFA Disciplinary Committee comprising John Marshall SC (Chairman), Lachlan Gyles SC and Shaun McCarthy.
“The process provided by this hearing was extremely thorough,” a Perth Glory spokesperson said. “The Club received a real opportunity to be heard by the independent Disciplinary Committee members and put its case. Read more
Perth Glory has suffered a 3-nil loss at the hands of rivals Sydney FC on Friday night at nib Stadium.
A defiant Glory turned out in front of nearly 7,500 loyal members and supporters despite a disappointing day which saw the club stripped of its right to play in the A-League finals series.
Perth was first to threaten, and it came through Olyroo, Jamie Maclaren in the second minute. The 22-year-old forward skipped clear of the Sydney defence, but was unable to square the ball to an oncoming Dragan Paljic. Read more
Football Federation Australia (FFA) has determined that Perth Glory Football Club will be excluded from the 2015 A-League Finals Series after being found to be in breach of the A-League’s Player Contract Regulations (‘salary cap’).
At the end of Round 27 the Club’s position on the ladder will be adjusted and recorded as seventh.
The sanction follows the determination that Perth Glory has deliberately failed to disclose reportable benefits and payments to at least six players, and from the beginning of the 2014/15 season has been operating in excess of the allowable salary cap of $2.55m by in the order of $400,000. Perth Glory has confirmed the mutual release of Matt Davies and Mitch Nichols to allow both players to pursue alternate football opportunities.
Nichols, a fringe Socceroo midfielder, started in 10 of 14 games this season while on-loan from Japanese club Cerezo Osaka.
He joined the club in September just prior to the season commencing but a hamstring injury in mid-December along with minor disciplinary issues since then saw the 26-year old on the outer with club officials. Read more

On the back of their A-League form this year the Wellington Phoenix will make their debut at this year’s HKFC Citibank Soccer Sevens tournament to be held at Hong Kong Football Club from May 29-31.
The Phoenix will be the first New Zealand club to take part in the annual seven-a-side tournament which is into its 16th year. They will face stiff competition for Rookie-Of-The-Year status with three other teams on debut: Spanish club Atletico Madrid, English Premier League team Stoke City, and Shanghai’s SIPG.
The 16-team tournament regularly features the world’s biggest clubs with Manchester City taking the title in 2014. This year’s line up includes EPL teams Aston Villa, Leicester City, Newcastle United, and West Ham United. They are joined by leading teams from the A-League, Chinese Super League, Hong Kong Premier League and La Liga. Read more

Bunbury boy Josh Risdon has emerged as the hero, after scoring the best goal of his career, helping Perth Glory to secure three points and an emphatic 3-2 victory over Asian Champions, Western Sydney Wanderers.
nib Stadium was charged by an electric atmosphere as more than 150 Wanderers fans made the long trek across the Nullarbor.

Ernie Merrick will be coaching his 200th A League game when the Wellington Phoenix take on the Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday which is quite an achievement for someone who had no ambitions to be a coach.
Asked to look back over a career that includes 151 games with Melbourne Victory and 49 with the Phoenix, Merrick sits back in his chair and smiles.
“It is quite amazing when I didn’t think I would be a coach in the first place,” he says. Read more

Perth Glory remains in the hunt for its maiden A-League Premiership despite a 2-1 loss at the hands of New Zealand rivals Wellington Phoenix at nib Stadium.
Roy Krishna bagged a brace for the visitors, but Ruben Zadkovich stole the show after his thumping equaliser set the game alight in the 29th minute.
Glory got the game underway, but it was the Phoenix who registered the first shot on target in the 3rd minute when an under-hit back-pass found its way to Krishna who fired low at the near corner. Read more
