Bulldogs take home match to Dunedin

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs will take their round three NRL Premiership clash with the New Zealand Warriors to Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Friday March 17 (8pm kick off NZST).

Following visits to Hamilton (2014), and Wellington (2016); the Bulldogs have gained a strong support base in New Zealand, partly due to the history of Kiwi greats, both past and present, including Jarrod McCracken, Darryl Halligan, Sam Perret, Sam Kasiano,and Greg Eastwood.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Chief Executive Raelene Castle was delighted that the club has been able to strengthen its partnership with New Zealand fans by taking the Bulldogs Game Day experience to the passionate sporting fans of Dunedin. Read more

Bulldogs to host Warriors in Wellington

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are excited to announce that the NRL side will play a ‘home’ match against the New Zealand Warriors at Westpac Stadium, Wellington, in 2016.

To coincide with the full draw being released today, the Bulldogs will take on the New Zealand based side in Round 7 of the regular season on Saturday, 16 April at 7.30pm (NZ Time).

As in previous years, the Bulldogs have taken select matches away from ANZ Stadium and used them as an opportunity to grow the game in areas that are seen as potential growth areas for both the club and the NRL. Read more

Morris and Tolman named joint Players of the Year

Fullback Brett Morris and front row forward Aiden Tolman have tonight taken out the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs top award, being named joint winners of the 2015 Dr George Peponis NRL ‘Player of the Year’ Award at the Club’s annual Presentation Night held at Le Montage, Lilyfield.

Both Morris and Tolman were awarded the Dr George Peponis Medal after being judged to have made the most outstanding on field contribution to the Bulldogs over the course of the NRL season by their team mates and coaching staff.

In his first season at the club, Brett played 16 games, averaged 142m per game and for the season had 68 tackle breaks, 12 line breaks and scored 9 tries of his own. Read more

Kasiano remains a Bulldog

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs front row forward Sam Kasiano has today confirmed he will remain at the Bulldogs for a further three seasons, through until the end of 2018.

The 24-year-old has come through the Bulldogs junior ranks and made his NRL debut in season 2011 (Rnd 1 v Tigers, ANZ Stadium) and has since gone on to make 74 appearances in the top grade.

The Kiwi-international had a patchy 2014 where injury stopped him from being on the field consistently but the 24-year-old has started the year strongly and his hopeful of it continuing. Read more

Bulldogs going back to Belmore

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are excited to announce that they will face the Cronulla Sharks in their ‘Back to Belmore’ match in season 2015.

As part of the club’s 80th Anniversary celebrations, the Bulldogs will take on the men from the Sutherland Shire at Belmore Sports Ground in Round 20 on Sunday, 26 July.

In what will be a significant occasion, fans are encouraged to become members of the club as it will be the only way to guarantee entry in what will be the first competition match to be played at the venue since 1998. Read more

Josh Morris remains a Bulldog

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the re-signing of Australian, New South Wales and current Bulldogs player, Josh Morris, for the next four years, through until the end of season 2018.

The Kiama Knights junior made his NRL debut for the Dragons back in season 2007 before joining the Bulldogs in 2009. At 27, Morris has made 156 appearances in the NRL (Dragons 46, Bulldogs 110).

At representative level, Morris has made five appearances for Australia, played eight matches for New South Wales, represented Country Origin on three occasions and been selected in the NRL All-Stars side twice. Read more

Lafai remains a Bulldog

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the re-signing of Tim Lafai, for a further three years, which will see him remain at the club through until the end of season 2017.

The 23-year-old has come through the Bulldogs junior ranks and made his NRL debut in season 2011 (Rnd 2 vs Rabbitohs, ANZ Stadium) and has since gone on to make 29 appearances in the top grade.

The centre had a promising season in 2013 where he made 16 appearances, crossing for seven tries. Read more

Bulldogs to take Gold to Auckland Nines

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are excited to release the jersey that will be worn for the inaugural Auckland Nines Tournament next month.

The all new “Royal Gold” Jersey takes elements of the traditional logo and values of the Club and combines that with a blend of royal blue, black and metallic gold to create an impressive new design.

Bulldogs winger and Kiwi International, Sam Perrett, modelled the new kit and is looking forward to the tournament.

“I’m really excited for the Auckland Nines. It’s going to be an awesome event and it’ll be great to spend some time back in New Zealand, it’ll be really special for me,” Perrett said. “The jersey looks great, all the boys are looking forward to the chance to play a different style of rugby league. Bulldogs to play in Hamilton

Following today’s unveiling of the 2014 NRL season draw the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce that they’ll be taking their Round 10 ‘home’ game on Sunday, 18 May to Waikato Stadium, Hamilton where they will take on the New Zealand Warriors at 4pm (2pm AEST).

With 1.2million people in New Zealand identifying as Rugby League fans and 41,000 registered players, Bulldogs Chief Executive Raelene Castle and proud Kiwi says the club is very keen to increase its profile and maximise opportunities in New Zealand.

“Many of our past and present stars, including Bill Noonan, Daryl Halligan, John Timu, Jarrod McCracken, Nigel Vagana, Roy Asotasi, Frank Pritchard, Greg Eastwood, Sam Perrett and Sam Kasiano are Kiwis so the Bulldogs already have a long established connection to New Zealand. Read more

Brisbane to host powerhouse match

Brisbane NRL Expansion Bid team, the Brisbane Bombers, will sponsor the first Brisbane-based powerhouse Rugby League match of 2014, the inaugural Pre-Season Charity Cup, between 2012 grand finalists Melbourne Storm and Canterbury–Bankstown Bulldogs, on Sunday February 23 at Suncorp Stadium.

The Brisbane Bombers are thrilled to help deliver a top-flight game to hungry South-East Queensland League supporters who will be starved of a pre-season game in the city due to the NRL All Stars match being shelved for 2014.

With NRL expansion looming, the Bombers are keen to demonstrate that Brisbane has the goods to support more great Rugby League with a healthy turn out. Read more
