Mudgee to host final Country-City clash

Some of the greatest players ever to represent Australia will be honoured during the final Country-City match next year.

Country Rugby League (CRL) and NSW Rugby League (NSWRL) today announced that Mudgee will host the match on Sunday 7 May at the Glen Willow Regional Sports Stadium.

CRL CEO Terry Quinn said he was determined that the historic match, which has been staged on and off since 1911, would go out on a high. Read more

Daley signs on until 2017

The NSWRL is pleased to announce that NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley has agreed to extend his contract until the end of 2017.

Fresh from coaching the Blues to victory in the 2014 Holden State of Origin series, Daley has agreed to a two-year extension of his deal.

Daley said he was determined to ensure that the plans that he had already introduced to the Blues’ preparations were carried through. Read more

Daley extends tenure as NSW Head Coach

This evening, at an intimate gathering of Rugby League journalists and the NSWRL Board and Executive, NSWRL Chairman Dr George Peponis OAM and Chief Executive Officer David Trodden, announced the contract extension of NSW Blues Head Coach, Laurie Daley, for a further year.

This ensures that Laurie will oversee the 2014 and 2015 Holden State of Origin series.

“The NSWRL Board and CEO have been very impressed with the manner in which Laurie has gone about his business. His respect for the changes made by Ricky, his strategic approach in planning for the 2013 campaign, his attention to detail and people management ensured that it was not a difficult decision to extend his contract,” said Dr Peponis. Stuart named NSW Origin Coach

The Board of the New South Wales Rugby League today confirmed the appointment of Ricky Stuart as head coach of the NSW Blues.

The two year appointment will also involve Stuart designing and implementing the coaching component of the NSWRL High Performance program.

NSWRL Chairman Mr. Colin Love, AM, said Stuart was ideally qualified to inspire in players the pride, passion and respect which comes from being handed a NSW jersey. Read more

Boost for Central Coast

Rugby League on the Central Coast has today received a boost with the announcement the region will be represented in all New South Wales Rugby League run competitions in 2010.

The Central Coast Crusaders, a new partnership between the Newcastle Knights and the Central Coast Rugby League, will play in the state’s premier open age competition, the NSW Cup while The Entrance Tigers make their return to the Bundaberg Red Cup competition.

Country Rugby League General Manager Mr. Terry Quinn believes this is step in the right direction for Rugby League on the Central Coast.

“With today’s announcement grade and junior players now have a complete representative pathway available to them from under 13s through to the National Rugby League with the Newcastle Knights,” Quinn said. Read more
