Eels sign Michael Jennings

The Parramatta Eels have today announced the signing of centre Michael Jennings to the club for the next four seasons.

Jennings, 27, joins the Blue and Gold from the 2016 season onwards after securing a release from the Sydney Roosters.

With 193 NRL games under his belt, the Penrith District junior has played six Tests for Australia and three Tests for Tonga, as well as representing the NSW Blues in 16 State of Origin clashes. Read more

Eels welcome 2016 NRL draw

The Parramatta Eels have today welcomed the announcement of the 2016 NRL Premiership draw, which will see the club take part in some of the game’s biggest clashes.

The 2016 schedule will see the Blue and Gold play their first seven rounds in Sydney, including two blockbuster Thursday night games – against the Brisbane Broncos to open the season, and our traditional rivals the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

The first 20 rounds of the 2016 draw feature the Eels playing four afternoon games in Sydney and five Friday night games. Read more

Foran signs with Parramatta

The Parramatta Eels have today announced Kieran Foran has agreed to terms with the club for the next four years.

The 24 year-old international, who has played 19 Tests for New Zealand, will leave the Sea Eagles at the end of the 2015 season to join the Blue and Gold from 2016.

“Today’s signing is a great endorsement for the club’s positive transformation over the last two years,” Eels Chairman Steve Sharp said. Read more

Hayne takes a leap of faith

Parramatta Eels fullback Jarryd Hayne has today advised Chairman Steve Sharp, CEO Scott Seward, Head Coach Brad Arthur and his teammates that he will pursue a long-held dream of playing NFL in the United States.

The club has accepted Jarryd’s decision and has granted him a conditional release.

Hayne, an Eels junior and dual Dally M winner, has played 176 first grade games exclusively in Blue and Gold, as well as creating an impressive record representing his state and his country. Read more

Eels bring additional match back to Parramatta

In conjunction with the release of the 2014 NRL Premiership draw, the Parramatta Eels are pleased to announce that 9 home matches will be contested next season at the club’s traditional home of Pirtek Stadium.

It represents the delivery of an election promise made by Chairman Steve Sharp and his board to bring more games back to Parramatta. Eels Chief Executive Officer Scott Seward sees this as a great result for Members and fans.

Eels appoint Head Coach

The Parramatta Eels are proud to announce Brad Arthur as the club’s Head Coach for the next three seasons.

Brad Arthur returns to the Eels after a season as Assistant Coach with the Manly Sea Eagles.

Prior to 2013, Arthur was an Assistant Coach at Parramatta, taking over as interim Coach for the final six games of 2012. Read more

Eels sign Justin Hunt

The Parramatta Eels have today announced the signing of Justin Hunt to a three-year deal commencing in 2014.

A talented winger or fullback, Hunt has played 13 NRL games for the South Sydney Rabbitohs since making his first grade debut in 2012. Blessed with blistering pace and football awareness, Parramatta Eels Head Coach Ricky Stuart believes the 24 year old will get the opportunity to reach his full potential wearing the blue and gold.

Eels historic agreement with NT Government

The Parramatta Eels and the Northern Territory Government have today launched a four-year partnership that will display the impact Rugby League can have not just as a major sporting spectacle but also as a vehicle for positive community outcomes.

In each of the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons, the Eels will play an NRL pre-season trial in Alice Springs and an NRL Premiership match in the capital city of Darwin.

For each of these trips the playing squad will spend extended periods working within the community promoting participation, healthy lifestyles and combating anti-social behaviour. Read more

Eels welcome Parramatta Stadium upgrade

The Parramatta Eels have today welcomed the Federal Government’s commitment to a $20 million upgrade to Parramatta Stadium.

The announcement was held this morning at Parramatta Stadium with the Parramatta Eels CEO Ken Edwards, Coach Ricky Stuart, Club Captain Tim Mannah and players Darcy Lussick, Jacob Loko and Mitchell Allgood joining the Minister for Sport, The Hon. Don Farrell and other members of Parliament in revealing the details of the upgrade.

This will be the first major upgrade to the Stadium since it was built in 1986, bringing the capacity to 24,000 and refurbishing the corporate facilities, change rooms and gym. The Blue and Gold’s have called the ground home since it was Cumberland Oval back in 1947. Read more

Hindmarsh caps off glittering career

Parramatta Eels legend Nathan Hindmarsh capped a glittering 15-year career in the Blue and Gold tonight with his eighth Ken Thornett Medal for NRL Player of the Year at the Club’s annual awards.

Players and officials joined members of the Eels corporate family at Oatlands House in a standing ovation for the retiring Eels captain, who also picked up the Jack Gibson NRL Coaches Award.

It is the eighth time Hindmarsh, 33, has collected the Ken Thornett Medal – a Club record – while fellow retiree and teammate Luke Burt was awarded the Mick Cronin NRL Clubman of the Year prize. Read more
