The Perth Scorchers have easily outclassed the Sydney Sixers, winning the Sixth Big Bash League Final by nine wickets at the Furnace this evening.

In front of a full house and venue record attendance, the home side reclaimed the Big Bash Champions tag with relative ease, keeping the Sixers to 9-141 then chasing down the target with 25 balls to spare.
Scorchers paceman Jhye Richardson was named player of the match, taking 3-30 off his four overs, while Brisbane Heat batsman Chris Lynn was named player of the tournament.
For the Perth based side, it was their third Big Bash Championship from the last four seasons, having also appeared in the tournament decider across five of the first six that have been played so far. Read more

The Perth Scorchers have defeated the Melbourne Stars by seven wickets in the first semi-final played at the Furnace this evening.

Led by Mitchell Johnson the Scorchers progressed to the Big Bash League Final for the fifth time in six seasons and ended the Stars run for the fourth time in the qualifying match.
Johnson claimed the man of the match award and finished with his Big Bash career best, and the ninth best Scorchers bowling figures in an innings, taking three-for as many from his fiery four over spell.
The Stars were restricted to a fairly modest 8-136 off their 20 overs, a similar score they chased here only 10 nights ago. The Scorchers in reply reached the 137-run target with 19 balls to spare. Read more

The Perth Scorchers have stormed to the top of the KFC Big Bash League table in dramatic fashion and guaranteed a home semi-final with a seven-wicket win over the Hobart Hurricanes inside 14 overs at Blundstone Arena.
The result means Perth, currently top-placed, cannot finish lower than second, with the final table positions, including potential opponents, to be determined through the result of the currently in-play match between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers at the MCG.
The match marked a stunning return to form for Player of the Match Shaun Marsh, who bludgeoned 57 off 34 balls, including two towering sixes and seven fours to see his side to 3-135 in pursuit of Hobart’s 6-134 with 37 balls remaining. Read more

The Stars have aligned again to defeat the Scorchers at the Furnace in Perth this evening by seven wickets.
The Melbourne-based franchise notched up a hat-trick of victories over their semi-final rivals from the West with another dominant performance to move to the top of the Big Bash League ladder with only a handful of preliminary matches remaining.
On a barmy evening, and in front of a new venue record attendance for any Big Bash match played so far in Perth, the Stars sent a cold chill through the Scorchers, restricting them to 7-134 off their 20 overs. Read more

The Perth Scorchers have rebounded from last week’s defeat to douse the Brisbane Heat by 27 runs at the Gabba in Brisbane this evening.

Defending what looked like a modest 157 runs, the Scorchers put the Heat behind the required rate quickly with three wickets in the power-play, eventually bowling the hosts out for 129 in the final over of their innings.
Michael Klinger was named player of the match after he top scored with 81 runs, moving within a couple runs of reaching the 1500 Big Bash League career runs milestone.
Andrew Tye meanwhile claimed four wickets including a hat-trick to complete the match, the second bowler ever to do so in a Big Bash League game. Read more

The Brisbane Heat have taken the honours with a convincing nine-wicket victory over the Perth Scorchers at the Furnace this evening.

Chris Lynn top scored with 98 not out and claimed the man of the match after he smashed an equal record 11 sixes for a Big Bash League innings and survived three dropped chances.
With Brendon McCullum at the other end together they shared a new and unbeaten Big Bash second wicket record partnership of 148 runs.
Lynn’s innings also saw him move to within six runs of becoming the highest run scorer in the Big Bash League history.
The Brisbane based side rebounded from defeat to the Sydney Sixers on Tuesday evening to claim victory this evening in the 15th over after earlier restricting the Scorchers to 6-173. Read more

The Perth Scorchers have signed English bowling all-rounder Tim Bresnan as the Club’s international replacement player for David Willey.
Bresnan will be available to play from the Wednesday 11 January game against the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba, with Willey unavailable for the Club’s final three regular season games along with any potential finals due to England duty.
Willey was last month called into England’s squad for the ODI and T20 International series in India in mid-to-late January. Read more

The Perth Scorchers have outclassed the Sydney Thunder to claim a convincing 50-run victory at the Furnace this evening.
The Scorchers Big Bash League semi-finals aspirations remain alive with their third win from four starts and second from as many at home this summer, while the Thunder season is on the ropes following four straight defeats.
Mitch Marsh claimed the player of the match award for a brisk 44 not out with the bat, striding the crease in the 11th over with the Scorchers needing to boost their run rate and post a challenging target for the Thunder to chase. Read more

A towering final-ball six by Ashton Agar has tonight launched the Perth Scorchers to the top of the KFC Big Bash League table with a four-wicket win over the Melbourne Renegades at Etihad Stadium.
The win extended the Scorchers’ head-to-head record to 6-0 against the Renegades.
The drama of the final ball reflected that of the final over in its entirety, which opened with the Scorchers needing nine to achieve their victory total of 149 and unfolded with the visitors losing the crucial wickets of Mitch Marsh (34 off 22) and Adam Voges (one from two) in consecutive balls. The Perth Scorchers have defeated the Adelaide Strikers by 48 runs at the Furnace this evening.
Spearheaded by an all-round team performance the Scorchers atoned for their five previous season opening defeats to comfortably win tonight’s only preliminary round match between these two teams.
Ashton Turner claimed the man of the match honours for his blistering 44 not out from only 19 deliveries with the bat towards the end of the Scorchers innings along with his superb bowling where he conceded only six runs from two overs. Read more
