Roosters sign Tedesco, release Evans

The Sydney Roosters have signed talented fullback James Tedesco while also announcing the departure of prop-forward Kane Evans at seasons end.

Tedesco, 24, will join the Roosters next year on a four-year deal, while Evans has put pen to paper and signed with Parramatta for the next three years.

“James is a tremendously exciting talent whose signature we are pleased to have secured and we look forward to welcoming him to the Roosters in 2018,” said Sydney Roosters CEO, Joe Kelly. Read more

Bulldogs sign Aaron Woods

Wests Tigers prop Aaron Woods has joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs on a four year deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2021 season.

The Dally M Prop of the Year in 2015, and veteran of nine Test matches and 11 State of Origin’s, will link up with the Bulldogs at the completion of this National Rugby League season. Read more

Wests Tigers sign Josh Reynolds

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that Josh Reynolds will be joining the Club for the 2018 NRL season.

The new four-year agreement will see the talented five-eighth join Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2021 NRL season.

Reynolds has played 129 first-grade games for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs since his NRL debut in 2011, making his representative debut for New South Wales in Game II in the 2013 State of Origin series before going on to feature in all three games of the Blues’ successful 2014 Origin series. Brooks commits to Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that halfback Luke Brooks has extended his playing contract with the Club for the next two seasons.

The new deal will see Brooks remain with Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2019 season.

Since making his NRL debut for the Club in 2013, the former Dally M Rookie of the Year has played a total of 70 first-grade games in Wests Tigers colours, making his representative debut for the NRL All Stars in 2015. Read more

Wests Tigers announce Ivan Cleary as Head Coach

Wests Tigers have today announced that Ivan Cleary will take on the role of Head Coach, effective immediately.

Cleary will take on the role of Head Coach until the end of the 2020 NRL season.

Cleary, 46, has coached 252 NRL games at the New Zealand Warriors and Penrith Panthers, plus was Head Coach of the 2015 Prime Minister’s XIII team and was named the 2014 Daly M Coach of the Year. Read more

Wests Tigers sign Tim Grant

Wests Tigers have today confirmed that Tim Grant has joined the Club for the coming two seasons.

Grant, 27, has played 144 NRL games since making his debut for the Penrith Panthers in 2007.

He joins Wests Tigers from the South Sydney Rabbitohs where he played 20 games during the 2015 season. Grant also played two State of Origin games for New South Wales in 2012. Read more

Woods named as Wests Tigers Captain

Wests Tigers have today confirmed that Aaron Woods will be the Club’s Captain for the 2016 NRL season.

Woods, 24, has played 105 NRL games for Wests Tigers since making his debut in 2011.

The Leichhardt Junior has also played five Tests for Australia and has made seven State of Origin appearances for New South Wales. Read more

Wests Tigers secure experienced duo

Wests Tigers are pleased to confirm the re-signing of utility Dene Halatau on a one-year deal, and also the addition of hooker Matt Ballin from Manly-Warringah.

The pair boast more than 400 first grade games between them, strengthening the level of experience within the Club’s playing roster for the 2016 season.

Halatau has played a total of 226 NRL matches since making his debut in 2003, with 157 appearances for Wests Tigers over two separate stints. Read more

Richards to depart at season’s end

Wests Tigers can confirm that Pat Richards will leave the Club at the conclusion of the 2015 National Rugby League season.

Richards will take up an opportunity to finish his career in Super League with French outfit, the Catalans Dragons.

The 33-year-old winger, who was part of the 2005 premiership-winning side, returned to the Club last season following on from an eight-year stint with the Wigan Warriors. Read more

Wests Tigers are sympathetic to the situation that Balmain Tigers Leagues Club currently finds itself in, as a historic contributor to the game of Rugby League Wests Tigers are hopeful the issue is resolved quickly.

First and foremost it is important that Wests Tigers clarifies that Balmain Tigers Leagues Club is two steps removed from the NRL Club. Wests Tigers does not rely on Balmain Tigers Leagues Club funding, and has not for some time. The Balmain Tigers Leagues Club is owned outright by the Balmain Tigers Football Club.

Wests Tigers is a joint-venture between Balmain Tigers Rugby League Football Club (Balmain Tigers) and Western Suburbs Rugby League Football Group (Wests Group), with funding shortfalls historically covered with a 50/50 split between the two shareholders. Due to a range of circumstances for the past three seasons this shareholder funding has not occurred to a sufficient level. Read more
